Rudy has had Spirit since 16 November 2008. He has taken the ground
work that we had done and has transferred that to the saddle. The following pictures were taken on 7 Dec 2008.
 Rudy is allowing Spirit to stretch and warm-up for the next step.  Rudy is allowing Spirit to relax and prepare for what's next.    The three pictures above show Rudy preparing Spirit to receive the bridle and bit.    These pictures above show the left and right lateral flexion.   Here Rudy is asking Spirit to back.  This picture shows that Spirit is asked to stop and Rudy stops riding, he is quiet and ready for the next lesson. Rudy uses a bull whip to imitate the sound of gun fire as a training tool in preparation for mounted shooting competitions. This was the first time he introduced the whip to Spirit. As you can see he was a little apprehensive at first, but with Rudy's reassurance and a little time he decided that the whip was no big deal.    To conclude the days lesson horse and rider showed mutual trust as demonstrated in the next picture. This was the first day that Rudy tried to stand on Spirit's back. It took a few minutes but this was the final result.  We are very pleased with Spirit's progress to date. Rudy is studying with Dennis Reis.
